A determined Leone Stars held defending African Champions, The Elephant of Cote d'Ivoire to a goalless draw in a pulsating and thrilling encounter which Sierra Leone, had to move to the 40,000 capacity Adokiye Amasiemeka Stadium in Port Harcourt, River State, Nigeria due to the ongoing CAF moratorium on football in Ebola-hit countries.

The Ivorians were uninspiring without captain Yaya Toure and other star players in their first game under new coach, Michel Dussuyer.

Both sides had a rather slow start to the encounter due to the water logged pitch. The Elephants slowly made some nice passes to get the curtain raiser but the stubborn Sierra Leone defense prevented then from penetrating.

Sierra Leone came closed to scoring in the 12th minute but Mohamed Bangura shot wide at close range.

The draw means that Sierra Leone remain at the foot of the table with a single point and Ivory Coast are in third place with two points after two successive draws.
