At a meeting held in the board Room of the AYV, Lake Production officially signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) with the media empire, in a bid to further promote the industry, both nationally and internationally. On the high table were the CEO of Lake Production, Alhaji K.Tarawallie, Stella Bangura, Digital and Branding Manager of AYV, Samuel W. Bangura, Director of Operations, AYV, Mrs. Brigitte Dalton-Sesay, Deputy Managing Director of AYV.
In her opening statement, Stella Bangura said that the AYV is a renowned institution both internationally and nationally in the media landscape, whose aim is to promote young talents, Art and Culture of the country and to encourage individuals to showcase their talents. She maintained that they are proud to partner with Lake Production and in the process support someone from within the AYV. They are happy to work with his company to promote the talents of youths in the country and by extension rebrand the image of the country in the International scene.
Samuel W. Bangura, Director of Operations in the AYV said that this move is to redefine the entertainment industry of Sierra Leone. To achieve this, there is the need to develop a concept/model which will improve the image of the industry. In this regard, the AYV is prepared to team up with Lake Production to chart the way forward for the industry and put Sierra Leonean talents in the global lime light. This partnership will use Lake Production as the tool to change the image of the industry internationally and this is the platform to get there. He further explained that though last year was great, they want this year’s award to transcend all other awards before.
Alhaji Tarawally, otherwise known as Laj K. said that this was his finest hour to see his dream come true. He expressed appreciation to the management and staff of the AYV for accepting the challenge and coming on board to support the venture. He intimated that they have professionals in various disciplines in this partnership, which will ensure a better coordination and realization of their dreams.
He also disclosed that his company has been in existence for the past 8 years; organizing programs like the National Music Award, National Hip Hop Award, Miss Freetown Beauty Pageant, National Music Festival and a host of other events. He is proud to introduce his long-time partner, Ibrahim Mansaray, the Country Director of Rugged, an entertainment guru, based in the UK. He has been supportive of their work and has provided both technical as well as other assistance over the years.
On his own part, Ibrahim Mansaray acknowledged that his company has been in partnership with Lake Production for the past 8 years and is proud to be associated with them.
He encouraged artists to show more commitment with the group, as it is a means of exposing their talents to the outside world and by extension, promote the good name of the country. The partnership with AYV, he added is a welcome development which will further promote the entertainment industry both locally and internationally. It will also create more impact in the industry both in the technical and digital sector. He is looking forward to a very grand and never to be forgotten award this year.
Madam Brigitte Sesay, Deputy Managing Director of AYV, in her brief statement said that she is excited with the signing of this MOU with Lake Production. “AYV is proud to support anything Sierra Leonean”. Their aim is to celebrate local talents to gain international recognition. AYV is a media house with a difference, as it is not only focused on disseminating news, but embraces entertainment, in a bid to develop the talents of youths and eventually change the image and perception of Sierra Leone internationally.
The official signing of the MOU climaxed the event and was undertaken by the CEO of Lake Production, Alhaji K. Tarawally and the Deputy Managing Director of AYV, Madam Brigitte Dalton-Sesay.
