Sierra Leone National Senior Men’s Cricket team has lost again on Tuesday 11th April 2017, to Botswana by two wickets in the on-going ICC Africa Division One competition in South Africa.
This is Sierra Leone’s fourth loss in the competition after losing to Ghana, Zambia and Nigeria.
This places Sierra Leone in the bottom of the tournament with no wins. Their last match will be against Tanzania on Thursday 13, April 2017. They need to win at all costs.
Member of the Sierra Leone delegation, Cyril Panda, has said they lost narrowly and this is the best match so far the team has played but he said he will encourage them to keep the faith and try to win the last match against Tanzania.
Some of the local coaches who were following the team performance during the competition have praised Edward Ngegba, who made 40 runs. This is the first time he is playing at such an advanced level. He is able to make runs alongside Sinneh Kamara who has also played well.
The fight is not easy. We tried all our best still not enough to make it but we live to fight another day as comeback champions.
Most of the players said they have done their best but it still not enough.
